On June 14^th 2012 BioTech North, the life science and marine biotechnology cluster in Troms, Northern Norway, has been granted the Arena status. 

Arena is the national program for long term development of regional business clusters. The objective of Arena BioTech North is to strengthen the cluster’s commercialization performance and increase its international exposure in the fields of marine bioprospecting and better use of restmaterials from marine organisms. 

Arena is owned by Innovation Norway, SIVA and the Research Council of Norway. The program offers both advisory and financial support.
