Barents Biocentre Laboratories (BB Lab) offers access to modern laboratories with advanced equipment.

BB Lab is an infrastructure project initiated by several biotech companies, the University of Tromsø, Norut (Northern Research Institute) and Norinnova Technology Transfer.

The main goal is to facilitate the development of biotech industry.

Sub goals

• Offer affordable laboratories and equipment for rent
• Contribute to a strong biotech cluster in the region
• Establish a meeting place for industry and academia
• Establish strong national and international networks

BB Lab is investing NOK 30 million in advanced laboratory equipment. Troms County Council allocated the money for this investment.

BB Lab was established November 2010. BB Lab is a private enterprise and is 100 % owned by the Norut Group.
